Dogs are thought to have been the first domesticated animals. The relationship between dogs and man dates back roughly 12,000 years (some might say 15,000). The fact is, dogs were domesticated before sheep, goats, cattle and pigs. Through out time dogs have formed a symbiotic relationship with humans. Dogs have served as protectors, helpers, lifesavers and most importantly friends. In turn, we give them food, shelter, and friendship (at least we should).
